Norton: Make Mine Virginia Wine

A few months back I found myself in St. Louis on a business trip. I was able to enjoy the Norton wine from August Winery in Missouri.  At the same time, I was in the middle of reading The Wild Vine, a great book about American Wine and the history behind it. As it turns out, Norton grows great in Missouri but was developed and founded in Richmond Virginia. Virginia has some of the best Norton Vineyards including Chrysalis Vineyard. The past few months my love of Norton has grown and I am fixated on trying every Norton I can get my hands on and stocking my cellar with bottles to age and try years down the road.

Amber and I are member of the Chrysalis Wine Club and they host a yearly Norton and Bluegrass festival, which I featured above. If you have not tried Norton, get out and give it a swirl!
