Virginia Tannat

Weekend Oasis Vacation Rentals is proud of our local Virginia vineyards. All of our properties are located minutes from some of the very best Virginia vineyards. Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Merlot are the leading sellers in the Virginia wine industry but soon will have some new grapes join them. Over the past 8 years, Virginia wine makers have been experimenting with lots of new grapes including the Tannat. Tannat is a red wine grape, historically grown in South West France and is now one of the most prominent grapes in Uruguay, where it is considered the "national grape". Chateau O'Brien is among these vineyards aggressively growing tannat. I was speaking to Howard at Chateau O'Brien and he mentioned the tannat they have and how it has competed with that of Uruguay. The Tannat of Chateau O’Brien compared favorably with the Tannat of Bodegas Carrau Uruguay, which has produced Tannat for 250 years, and was picked superior to the Uruguay wine by some. The O’Brien Tannat has won awards in New York and overseas. Be sure to check-out the Virginia Tannat and let us know what you think.

We take great pride in our properties that make-up Weekend Oasis vacation rentals. A few weeks ago we added a bit of preservative to the decking at Blue Mountain Oasis in Front Royal Virginia to ensure it continues to live a long life and provides a nice setting for our guests. Brogies Tavern

At Bryce Resort

Brogies Tavern is the newest addition to Bryce Resort. Located directly across from the main entrance at Bryce, Brogies sits in the spot of an old house that was removed, but Brogies was built to resemble this old house. The exterior may lead you to think it is a normal house, plain white siding and a front porch. The inside is nicely appointed with many great features, excellent hardwood floor, and remarkable (for the area) dining areas.

Many guests at Chestnut Oak Lodge and Bryce Condo have told me they loved it! Be sure to swing by and tell them Weekend Oasis sent you. Let us know what you think!
