"I would rate it a 9 out of 10. Our expectations were fully met, the booking process was excellent.The cabin is beautiful, as are the surroundings. We had plenty of room for all of us (4 adults, 1 5year old, and two dogs) to both be together and also have alone time when wanted. The dogs were in heaven! One of our dogs is a coonhound, so it's difficult to find places to rent where we have enough room for him to go into his "i found a critter, it's over here!!!" barking spells, so this was the perfect cabin for us with no neighbors and lots of room to roam. The cabin was fully equiped with everything we needed, and the free wi-fi was a definite plus as well."

"We were looking for a quick getaway that allowed us to detach from our every day craziness of emails, phone calls and work. Poes Mountain lodge did just that. We brought our 2 dogs which made themselves at home and loved running off leash outdoors. The kids loved playing on the wii and exploring outside and most of all having our undivided attention. The Cabin was beyond beautiful and was more spacious then we could have hoped for. The quiet and peacefulness of the trip was exactly what we were looking for and we are already planning our 2nd trip."

"The cabin exceeded our expectations for the stay we had planned.  Our guests were from Thailand, and they truly felt like they were in America with such a grand accommodation.  Many photos were taken of the beautiful structure.  The quiet location, well maintained home, generous deck for relaxing and eating all added to the memorable stay.  One thing we especially found invaluable was the Wii game that we were able to enjoy (with glee and much cheering) with our Thai guests.  Any language barriers were quickly reduced with several of the games played.  Thank you for trusting it with your guests; most rentors would not have such equipment available for use.  We truly enjoyed our stay; thanks for sharing your beautiful home! "This is a beautiful and restorative place, the property is gorgeous, it's heavily forested and very tranquil, we saw wild turkeys, groundhogs and more deer than we could count. as for the house itself, it is just beautiful, the log cabin design was fascinating to see, and the home is meticulously maintained. we had all the creature comforts we required, plus a few (Wii) that were nice additions, more than enough space for my family of five, the kitchen is modern and fully equipped location-wise, while amissville is a little off the beaten path, we easily drove to nearby towns, wineries, the National Park and lots of other attractions we loved our vacation in Amissville!"

"Upon our arrival my family and I were pleasantly surprised with the quality and cleanliness of the home. I instantly felt compelled to remove my shoes as the wood flooring was so beauitiful. The kitchen was well equipped and having so many areas with which to dine was a real treat. We ate our barbecued dinner on the deck and the large dining table was wonderful for our group at breakfast and with room to spare. We did not need to take advantage of the enclosed screened deck as the bugs were not too much of a nuisance yet this time of year. If we had stayed longer, I would have enjoyed using the washer and dryer. The laundry room is more spacious than mine at home and plenty of room to store a cooler or two and dirty shoes when you come in from the car port area. Can't forget to mention the fabulous spacious master bath shower, well equipped with 2 shower heads, one of which can be used as a hand held sprayer and the other head is the rain water drip style. In fact, the second bath was very well equipped also, having both a separate shower stall and a large corner style bath. The decor was perfectly stylish and complemented the log style architecture and the Lazy Boy furniture was so comfortable that I did not want to move from my seat. Thanks Jason, we enjoyed the use of your home! We hope to return and visit some of the beautiful wineries passed along the way."

"Poe’s Mountain cabin was fantastic, everything about the property and house is as advertised (or even better).  It is in a beautiful wooded setting, very private, and the house and furnishings are beautiful and in excellent condition.  The house layout is conducive to groups up to 6 people (we had 5 and there was plenty of room, along with privacy if wanted), and there are many nice details.  The instructions for the house are excellent, and it was well supplied for our visit.  There is a lot to do in the immediate area (within 1 hour drive), more than you might think.  And there are several very good restaurants within ½ hour, including Thornton River Grill, 24 Crows (lunch only), Blue Rock Inn, and Apartment 2G/Element.  We were 100% satisfied with the cabin for a 3-day weekend, and it would be appropriate for longer stays as well."

We meet at a rental and enjoy being away from daily life as we focus on catching up, playing games, eating, and relaxing! Poe's Cabin provided us with all we needed to accomplish our holiday goals. We enjoyed venturing into Warrenton one afternoon; other than that, we made ourselves at home in the comfortable cabin. We cooked all our meals on site and found the kitchen to be well equipped. Loved the big dining table which also doubled as our game table. Saw some glorious sunsets from the deck; we loved being "in the woods". We have some great pictures to remind us of our family time at Poe's Cabin. Suggestion: a few more cozy chairs in the den for gathering around the fireplace and the TV are needed."

"We loved our retreat to the Blue Mountain Oasis. The big open back yard gave us space to play frisbee and throw the baseball around with our sons, while the dog enjoyed being outside with us. The HD TVs were perfect for hunkering down in the evening for Rounds 2 and 3 of the NCAA Basketball tournament. Happened upon a full moon evening, we watched as it rose up from behind the mountain from the hot tub! We wanted to have the feel of staying in a log cabin with the luxury of a modern home--this was the perfect combination! We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the forest that surrounds the cabin on the outside and the coziness of reading a book by the fire or playing board games together at the dining room table on the inside. Traveling to the nearby wineries was a fun way to get "out and about" and see the beautiful countryside of Northern Virginia. We would HIGHLY recommend a stay in the Lodge for anyone that wants to "get away from it all" and enjoy time together with family and friends."

Town was easy to find and had everything we needed with the exception of a sports bar to watch the VA Tech game. We ended up going to Griffin Tavern in Flint Hill to watch the game. It was a bit of a drive, but very much worth it. The food was great as well as the beer selection and atmosphere. We will definately come back to this location in the future."

Everything was great! My son , my niece and I had a wonderful time. They enjoyed the different types of skiing, while I rested. The condo was nice. The area was beautiful and it snowed , which made everything perfect. Again I say thank you and I am sure I will return again. The light in the bedroom blow. I did not change the bulb, because , I did not want to break anything. I brought some bulbs and left them under the cabinet in front of the stove. Thank yo so very much!

We had a lovely time at the condo this weekend. It was as quiet as you said, and that made it blissful for me. Gabriel and Hamid had a wonderful time at the resort and Baxter and I had a good time on the trails. I want to thank you in particular for not padding the fee, I was really disgusted at some of the 'pet friendly' places that charged an extra $35 a day, etc. That would have put it way out of our budget and it was crucial that Baxter be able to come with us. Well, it was to me anyhow,lol. Hamid and I want to come back in the Spring and Gabriel has decided he's going back during the Summer, so we'll be in touch.

Hi Jason - We really needed to get away, and can't leave our elderly dog with anyone else, so the condo was perfect - as I wrote in the guest book, we did some walking, napping (I tried fishing), and antiquing, etc. Andy's family used to own a house off of Fairway Drive, and we miss being able to get away from it all. This weekend brought back some memories and this weekend arrangement makes for a perfect long weekend. Thanks again!
